I am thrilled and still a bit stunned to report that I won reserve grand champion of the show with my bearded white standard Polish. She has won Champion Continental at quite a few shows, and I have won best large fowl a couple of times, but this was a very, very special moment for her and for me. Makes all that work seem worth it.
And the second big news from York: The Junior grand champion was won by a lovely white crested black bantam hen shown by Cassels and Sheas, a group of cousins from Hummelstown PA. Congratulations, kids!! (they are members!)

Unfortunately, the August issue of PP ran the show report, but one thing was missing: any mention of a Reserve Show Champion! I sent them a note, and also checked with the York folks who said they did indeed send a full report with this info in it. Oh well. Some days . . . I know from my own experience that show reports do contain errors, so maybe we shouldn't expect perfections at PP either. At least all of you know about it! And the thrill of getting it is still real. Thanks all for your congrats!
