Hi, I'm trying to start a solid breeding flock of Crevecoeurs, and have settled on a mix of birds from Sandhill and Urch / Turnland Poultry. Numerically, I have a lot more birds from Sandhill, and only one rooster from Urch. I'm going to have to cull heavily from the Sandhill side as I have so many roosters in that group (8 as I write this note. I'm going to try and adopt some out locally via Craigslist, but do let me know if you'd like one. None of them are perfect, unfortunately, but that's sort of where the breed is at... in genetic limbo...)
To take advantage of the excess Sandhill rooster blood, ideally I should have a few hens of Urch origin, both to cross with the Sandhill boys as well as with my Urch boy.
So, I'm posting in hopes that somebody out there has Crevecoeurs which came from Duane Urch, with hens or hatching eggs to spare!
I'd really love hatching eggs, and would be happy to send a box and packing supplies if it would make things easier.
PS. If you have really nice Crevs of any origin, please let me know! I'm trying to stay in touch with everyone else I find who has Crevecoeurs.

Katherine, Craig Russel has set out to recreate these beauties as well. There seems to be a growing interest. Anywho, I will be working with Craig on this project. Currently, I only have them in bantam.

I sure am glad someone is taking this on. I have wanted some for quite some time but have only seen one person who has crevecoeurs that I think are at least nice, though even those still need work.
