What sort of display? Is it something for a club or an educational display for a fair or what?
I have done lots of them and they vary quite a bit depending on the need.
Here is a link to a 5 day fair that wanted a large educational display: http://s225.photobucket.com/albums/dd16/Blackstar_3/Agrifair%202009/?albumview=slideshow
This is way more than is usual for a show display it could be as simple as a table with a backboard with pictures and some handout information.
What makes a "great" display is a knowledgable person standing there answering questions and interacting pleasantly with the crowd

so then are they providing the pen and equipment (feeder etc) or are you? You would have to have signage explaining what the display is. IE a breed description, maybe history of the breed or type. Some info about its uses type of eggs or meat production or whatever the breed is used for.

A display consists of 1 cock, 1 cockerel, 1 hen, 1 pullet, and an old or young trio- 7 birds all the same variety. This is from memory, but I think I'm right.

According to the Official APA rules, a display must consist of not less than seven (7) fowls, which shall be 1 Cock, 1 Hen, 1 Cockerel, 1 Pullet, and 3 birds of the exhibitors’ choice. E.I.P.. Entries will be accepted for any variety, Standard or Non-Standard,

I have never seen that class offered. But it is certainly a lofty goal, though you would know more whether your group is capable of supplying the entries.

Our State Fair always offers a $50 prize for best display. It seems like I never have quite enough males though.
