I have an opp. to get a nice blue Roo.  No one has anything around here where I am and i have a nice collection of Stnd. Silver Laced Polish.  A few were class champions and breed champions.

As I am pretty new at this stuff.  If I bred this blue Roo To a Silver Laced what would I get?

thanks so much

Hello,

Are you using a solid blue (self blue) rooster or a white crested blue rooster in this cross?

I really don't know allot on genetics but if you really want Blues get a Splash and breed it to a White Crested Black and you get 100% Blues. Then go from there work on one thing at a time get the color you want, then work on size then lacing(might try a Silver then?) when you start crossing colors keep good reacords on the off spring there will be allot of junk and throw backs along the way. sometimes it takes generations in breeding to get what you want consentrait on one thing at a time not the whole bird at once. It takes time to get the rite bird don't rush it. i found out along time ago if you don't have the birds you need buy quality birds from a good breeder and go from there. If I had the birds still i would try and help you.

It is a solid blue roo....self blue.

There is just or hardly any standard polish--silver laced here.

I also wonder if I breed a blue or black white crested bantam frizzle  polish to a standard silver laced polish if I would get silver laced polish frizzles.

I really would like to breed up to a stnd. silver laced polish.  I have everything seperated and am just starting to breed the correct format for  standards and polish.  I have everything marked and documented.  I also have ordered leg bands to ensure that I know who or what is what.

thanks

Maybe we can do some trading or something - but I am looking for a well marked & well crested silver laced roo.

Any ideas?

I do eggs as well.

I have a question about breeding frizzles. Can I breed frizzles to completely smooth polish that do not carry any frizzle genes? And what are the percentages of the offspring of the frizzling?

Regarding frizzles: read the section on this site titled Frizzling. It's quite a read but should answer your questions.
