hi i was wondering if anyone knows how many CCs to give day old chicks when vaccinating for mereks and pox. and it also said to do adult birds as well and how much do you give them? There was an outbreak of pox a bit south of where i live and i would rather be safe than sorry. thanks

thank you jim,
it says on the website to give .2 cc 2/10 cc for the mereks, and with pox it sounds like you just put the vaccine on the "stabber?" and stab them with it under their wing

That's the formulas I've been using for a couple of years & so far so good. For the pox vac., I have found that you have to hold the wing outstretched & poke quick & fairly hard til you hear a little "pop" when the stabber penetrates the skin. Works best with two people. Doesn't seem like enough vaccine but that's all they need! Good luck.

I buy my vaccines local (pox for $5) & they have the stabber there. I checked First State Vet but I didn't find one. Check the other online vet supply houses or your local feed store. Good Cluck!

Megan - Keep in mind that both the pox & merek's vaccines are "live vaccines" which means they are made from/with the actual virus. In a very small percentage of poultry the vaccines can actually cause the very virus you are trying to prevent. But this is a small percent. Just keep an eye on the and watch for any signs of oncoming ills.
