Hi James, I'm going to drive down to the show, irresistable since it's only 2 hours away!  But I won't be showing any birds. Glad to hear you are working on Crèvecoeurs and Houdans too. How many years into the Houdan project are you now? I'm visiting the new site for the first time and thought I recognized one of Kris Kraeuter's Houdan pics on the front page. Did you manage to get birds from Kris? I got my start from Cackle, at her suggestion, apparently Cackle wound up with a lot of McKinney and Govero's stock, and that was one of Kris' main source of Houdans. Can't wait to see your birds!

Thats ok Jon I was being a little cheeky as I knew perfectly well which Apa National Jim was asking about but there are 2, one in the US and one in Canada, though I am not sure how many Americans are aware of this.

The Canadian APA national is being held in Western Canada this year so its a great opportunity to show for us BC'ers Maybe you will make the trip? Here is a link to the Vernon clubs website (they are hosting it)

I am not able to go due to my daughter's current serious illness but am very interested in how many people are going to be taking white crested splash polish. Being a silkie breeder and exhibitor for years I am still so suprised the splash are not recognized. I sure hope that he white crested splash will be able to get enough support to become a  recognized variety.

I wish the Canadian National weren't so close to Crossroads.  I had to pick one, so Crossroads it is.  Some people are doing both- but my husband would never go for it!!

Alas, we were unable to get enough breeders to commit to bring 5 WC splash birds to try for recognition-very disappointing and now, of course, the price for new variety recognition has gone up as well.  Still, I hope we are planning some sort of PBC dinner or something for all of us who will be at Crossroads.  None of my friends believe I'm flying that far for a chicken show...

I will be there hoping to show Khaki, Chocolate, silver laced, Cuckoo and cuckoo frizzle.  all bantams.  I have my room reserved.  If anyone wishes to share a room, send me a private message.  good way to save some costs.

Looking foward to it ! I plan to bring a selection -- all standard -- whites (one or two frizzles), SL frizzles, wc Cuckoo, a few young pullets (wcb, wc cuckoo, wc blue). I am hoping to travel light, tho I'll have about 5 large Orpingtons and a host of bantam naked necks in various colors. If anyone has STANDARD wc cuckoo, or wcb Frizzle, pls bring one or two I can buy!   Regards,

Well, I bathed my little WC Black pullet and she goes tomorrow to the person who will drive her to Indy.  That's a full week before the show- I can't imagine what condition she'll arrive in but, whatever it is, it is.  My son is taking araucanas and seramas to the youth show, so I entered just the one Polish so as to be part of the action but give him more opportunity to show.  See you all there!
