DEFECTS

Split crest- twisted or reverse-faced feathers in crest-Neck unduly long and/or narrow- abrupt break at junction of back and tail and sickle feathers- Wings carried too low.

Defects-Laced varieties

Black peppering in wings and tail-Black peppering or mossiness in ground color- Black ends on lower back feathers and tail coverts- Frosting in various sections of the plumage- general color of plumage too light- Lacing too heavy- Spangling or moon marks instead of lacing- White in crest- White in flight and/or main tail feathers- Mossiness in various sections of plumage of laced varieties-Lack of activity, sluggishness-While white in the crests of cockerals and pullets of laced varieties will not be tolerated, judges shall not penalize adult birds for white "aged feathers" in the crest- Attempts are made by some breeders to improve lacing in the hackle, back and saddle of the Golden and Silver Polish bantam male by the introduction of Golden and/or Silver Sebright blood;hence the judge should be on the alert for "hen feathering" in these sections and if found, they should be cut severly.
